Turning Facebook from time consuming to at least time neutral

I happened to read a article on how Facebook is becoming a serious problem for companies in terms of time consuming socializing vs. effective work in the office. My girlfriend also reported that after getting her Facebook profile she was found by many members of her multinational company and now she can see them filling silly questionnaires and playing games.

For me, Facebook is mainly about letting my friends know what is on my mind, what I am working on, what interests me. So quizzes, and games are not part of my Facebook picture. I mainly share links with content and post status messages based only on what interests me most. At least for the latter I can imagine a better – time management related – way: a small application for ToDos that can post changes in the list to the Facebook or Twitter profile. So I am going to find if there are any of these in place…
